Announcement
We’re delighted to announce that McIntosh and Sonus faber are set to become proud sponsors of Sky Tempesta Racing for the 2024 GT3 season.
Founded by elite racers Chris Froggatt and Eddie Cheever in 2018, Sky Tempesta Racing was born out of a shared ethos of teamwork, talent and tenacity. With these three principles as their defining philosophy, Sky Tempesta Racing has gone on to experience considerable success on the racetrack over the past six years.
Championing excellence at every level of their race team, Sky Tempesta Racing make perfect partners for the transcendent, design led quality of McIntosh and Sonus faber. By constantly striving to improve upon excellence, Sky Tempesta Racing, McIntosh, and Sonus faber all share a distinct and rarefied value set. It’s for this reason that we’re incredibly pleased to play a part in Sky Tempesta Racing’s 2024 season - one that is sure to bring victory and honours on the track.
Throughout the 2024 season, Sky Tempesta Racing will also be sponsored by KJ West One - London’s foremost supplier of premium HiFi, including McIntosh and Sonus faber. Our warm friendship and working relationship with KJ West One means that the 2024 GT3 campaign is set to enjoy the very best in luxury listening at events worldwide.
From 26th-30th June, the Belgian town of Spa will play host to one of the most iconic races in the GT3 calendar - 24 Hours Of Spa. For the race, McIntosh and Sonus Faber are pleased to be supplying two world class sound systems - the McIntosh RS250 Wireless Speaker, and the Sonus faber Omnia Wireless Speaker.
Both premium listening systems represent the very leading edge of technology and design - making them the perfect playback solution for Sky Tempesta Racing and the GT3 Championship. Both Omnia and RS250 will be in use throughout the race weekend, with some exciting and unexpected events planned that will focus attention on both wireless speakers’ ability to distinctly elevate the listening experience.
Since their founding, Sky Tempesta Racing has proved a formidable addition to the starting grid throughout multiple competitions and disciplines. Their honours list includes podium finishes and victories in the renowned Blancpain Endurance Championship and GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS. Then in 2020 and 2021, the team went on to take the GT World Challenge European Sprint PRO-AM by storm, finishing as Drivers and Overall Champions in each respective year.
In 2023, Sky Tempesta Racing announced a new partnership with McLaren, driving the McLaren 720s Evo in the competitive British GT Championship with Chris Froggatt and Kevin Tse taking the wheel. And now, the longstanding trio of Chris Froggatt, Edward Cheever, and Jonathan Hui are taking on the GT World European Endurance Championship once again. The team is set to continue its partnership with Mercedes, entering into the Intercontinental GT Challenge driving the Mercedes AMG GT3 at circuits around the world.
Podiums and trophies aside, what these results prove is that - just 6 short years after the team first took to the track - Sky Tempesta has astutely and relentlessly formed a highly respected and winning Pro-Am endurance racing team.
McIntosh and Sonus faber wish the very best of luck to everyone at Sky Tempesta Racing for the 2024 season.
